WHY

After 20 years as Heartland Circle, we relaunched as Center for Purposeful Leadership in April 2017.  It was risky, scary and exhilarating—a huge leap in our leadership and capacity. Patricia knew it was the right thing to do and enrolled the Heartland team in a collaborative and iterative process. The leap from Heartland to CPL is a great case study, some of many lessons learned to share with you.

You are invited on a guided journey of reflection, learning, exploration and discovery. Because women's leadership doesn't happen in a silo, this is a cohort-based program. When Women Lead is an opportunity to pause and take intentional time out from your day-to-day life, to consider your purpose and prepare for what is next for you and your leadership.

What really matters to you? Beyond your role or position, who are you? What is special about your leadership? Through the interaction of clarifying your purpose and intention, place, and kindred travelers and guides, you will gain new perspectives and capacities to grow your leadership for the next part of your journey.

Connect to lead. Engage to grow.
Greater impact. Broader influence.
Individual wisdom. Collective wisdom.

"Maybe the journey isn't so much about becoming anything. Maybe it's about un-becoming everything that isn't really you so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place."  Paul Coelho

HOW

Leaders ramp up their skills in a similar way to the way we all learn to drive cars. When you first learn to drive, you need mentoring and concentration to get the car to move smoothly ahead. After some practice, the driving becomes second nature. For a Purpose Leader, a similar breakthrough happens after you:

• Utilize the 16PF (Personality Factor) Assessment to begin your journey.

• Identify the behaviors and competencies you want to build on.

• Complete your purpose story and statement, integrating purpose and wisdom into your personal voice and vision.

• Create your purpose plan, identifying key partners and milestones in a unique spiral timeline.

• Have an ongoing conversation with your Learning Coach and Partners to explore next steps and prepare for the next part of your journey as a leader.

When Women Lead is designed to engage and inspire high-performing women leaders toward accelerating your leadership abilities into your next expression. To inspire ideas and actions that might seem unattainable.

To foster a rich and powerful conversation with program participants, we request that each applicant:

  • Has 5+ years of professional experience
  • Has held of position of influence within an organization
  • Has a willingness to explore professional and personal development.
