A Month of Purpose
3/1: Richard Leider: “The Path of Purposeful Living,” Part I
Author, The Power of Purpose: Find Meaning, Live Longer, Better
A master class with Richard Leider.
Your Purpose. Your aim or goal. Your reason for being. Your reason for getting up in the morning. You may not have considered the first three items, but most of us have wondered about a reason to get up in the morning, at least occasionally. The power of purpose, is about that reason: to help you unlock the purpose of your life.
Why Purpose Matters
“Why is it so hard to find my life purpose?” “Does it really matter?”
There are many reasons. Sometimes the world’s problems just seem too big and we feel too small. At times, we may just be too busy or overwhelmed from life’s challenges. But, living purposefully is fundamental to having a meaningful, fulfilling life. New research is emerging that reveals how important it is to define and unlock our own purpose in life. Studies show that purpose can improve your physical health, lengthen your life, and, make you happier. Mattering matters.
Mind Over Mattress: Finding Meaning in the Morning
Finding our life’s purpose can feel “just out of reach.” A “maybe someday” idea that we hope to fulfill in the future. But, what if your purpose is within your reach today. From the minute we awaken in the morning, we get to choose our attitude. The busyness of daily repetition might drain our energy and dull our attitude, making it easy to go on autopilot.
But, if we’re willing to pause, breathe, and reflect for just two minutes, we can instead see the “purpose moments” hiding in plain sight. And, suddenly, every day will start to look and feel like a purpose day.
