“Ready to forge ahead”

I came away from The Art of Convening Training (AoC) more energized, focused and ready to forge ahead with an appreciation of what was missing in our traditional approach to holding meetings. We have implemented the AoC within our organization and using the convening principles are gaining greater/deeper participation and collaboration in our meetings.

“The status quo is no longer an option”

Our senior management team engaged with CPL over a two-day retreat prior to the start of the academic year. The overarching theme of “the status quo is no longer an option” was skillfully weaved into the Art of Convening approach to create an intensive, deep learning, and fun event. The outcomes of changed ways of thinking, behaviors, and approaches to decision making were immediate and long-lasting.  The CPL team demonstrated their skill, experience, and wisdom as leading experts of change management.

“Change and transition”

“I brought in CPL for a leadership offsite with Vice Presidents to discuss change and transition. Craig and Patricia Neal brought a wealth of experience to the conversation and delivered a great experience for my team. I would recommend CPL to other organizations looking for leadership consulting and development.  We got a great deal from our 1-day session!”

— Regional VP, Comcast Corporation

“Lead from the heart and the mind”

The TLC on Authentic Vulnerability: Setting the table for effective engagement with your toughest critics was impactful. It served as a reminder that operating with grace, compassion and humanity even in the toughest of situations is more fulfilling than operating from ego.  The TLC provided a platform for the participants to network, share, learn and grow together in a structured creative way. It took me out of my comfort zone and helped me to think differently. This is a perfect program for those who want to develop by looking inwards and lead from the heart and the mind.

“I transformed to a new type of leader”

Our organization benefited greatly with Craig designing and convening a retreat and a number of meetings to help not only our leadership team grow into supportive team but helped me transform as a new type of leader as well! A master at individual and team transformational work!

An exceptional outcome with our group of 140

Thank you for facilitating an outstanding outcome for us at our senior leadership retreat. I had seen the community circle process work effectively for a group of 70 and have now seen it produce an exceptional outcome with our group of 140. All of the participants were engaged from the beginning and the discussion that ensued was both meaningful and productive. You definitely exceeded my expectations.

“Encourage new ways of approaching leadership”

I worked with Craig and Patricia Neal of Center for Purposeful Leadership for several years as sponsors of the Thought Leaders Gatherings (TLG).  We find great value, for our leadership team, in the design and execution of the TLGs to encourage new ways of approaching leadership with my management team.

I brought Patricia and Craig into the Twin Cities retail bank management team who had been working on having "crucial conversations" feeling their TLG process would be a perfect tool for provoking discussions on how to better serve our customers utilizing their “convening technology” to engender total group participation.

We also utilized CPL to design and convene an offsite during the Wells Fargo-Wachovia merger to launch the HR leadership shared vision process.”
