Join us as we reconnect, engage, collaborate to consider a shared, positive future, in community.

We are imagining an innovative hybrid event that with a “buddy system” and participation roles for in-person and virtual interaction.


It has been 6 years since we've "retreated". 18 months since the Essential Conversations were launched in the midst of the emerging pandemic. The world continues to pivot; our lives continue to evolve. As Purposeful Leaders, holders of space, and conveners of change, it is crucial to have the opportunity to pause and gather the learnings from these past impactful months.

We began 2020 with the first great pivot:

There is no surety moving forward but a clear push to “get back to normal.”

What the pandemic revealed is that “normal” didn’t work for a majority of people on the planet.

How can we create a future world that does work for a majority of people on the planet? What can we dream together? We have the opportunity to create a future vision, and then learn how to live into it.

In community, we will harvest the learnings from the past months. As Purposeful Leaders, we will explore what we want to strengthen, and bring forward, on behalf of those we serve. As we emerge together, we will create to reflect the synthesis of what we’ve learned, with a vision for a future world that works for all.

3:00-5:00 pm arrival
7:00 pm Orientation/opening

Sunday, October 24:
11:00 am Brunch
12:00 pm Closing Ceremony

+ What is the cost?

In-person: options from $115 - $630. Prices include lodging and meals. $100 deposit to hold your space.

Virtual/Zoom registration option: $100 for all 3 days, all sessions

+ For in-person participants: How will I get there?

Each participant is responsible for travel to and from the Retreat.

Flying: The closest airport is Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport International Airport (MSP). The Duluth International Airport (DLH) is an additional choice.

Driving: Directions to Onomia can be found at https://www.camponomia.org/
You may choose to rent a car and share costs with another participant.

Ride Share: If needed, we will help coordinate ride shares from the Minneapolis-St.Paul airport or from the Twin Cities.

"Homestays" before/after the Retreat are a possibility. We will help you contact Twin Cities colleagues.

+ What are CPL's Covid Protocols?

√ We are monitoring and will continue to monitor State and Federal Covid advisories in the weeks leading up to Retreat start date. At this moment, MN vaccination rates are: 72.9% over 16 have received at least 1 dose. https://mn.gov/covid19/vaccine/data/index.jsp

√ We request that everyone who comes is Covid-vaccinated. We recognize that this may not be possible for everyone, for a variety of reasons.

√ If you are unable to be or choosing not to be vaccinated, we ask that you obtain a negative Covid test 72 hours before arrival at the Retreat.

√ Weather permitting, some parts of the program will be held outdoors. We probably will ask for masks to be used for all indoor activities.

√ Meals: we will probably mask during the food lines, and ask you to spread out while eating.

+ What is the cancellation policy?

√ If the in-person Retreat is canceled due to COVID: We will offer a modified Retreat experience via Zoom. Participant cost is $100. You will receive a full refund, less a $100 Zoom fee.

√ If you choose not to participate via Zoom, we will refund your registration fee less $50 for administrative costs.

√ Refunds not related to Retreat cancellation will be made if requested in writing 15 days prior to the Retreat start date.
An administrative fee of $75 will be deducted.

√ No refunds will be made for requests received with 15 days of the Retreat.
