Community of the Soul Podcast: The Art of Convening with Patricia & Craig Neal
/ Patricia NealConvening, Collaboration, Community
Craig and I are honored to be invited to be interviewed for the first podcast of Community for the Soul Podcast Series, founded and curated by Andrea Costantine. It was a fun and nourishing session.
Highlights from the conversation:
Community mean bringing people together to recognize the gifts that we each have. Community-building happens in every aspect of our lives: teams, families, community.
At the core of community is a basic human desire to connect.
Convening is anytime you are engaged with one or more people. Because convening is about relationships and authentic engagement, you are never not convening.
It’s all about relationship. It is being willing to take responsibility and accountability for the whole.
Once people are heard, and when you speak from an authentic place, there is a chemical (or alchemical) shift.
Questions expand the conversation. Answers close it down.
Convening is a consistent practice of being willing enough to being present, to really looking at the other person and listening.
